We appreciate that our patients lead busy lives. Therefore, we are pleased to offer a number of online services, for our patients' benefit, to save them time when wishing to book appointments or receive prescriptions.

To find out more about online GP services available to the UK public, please visit the NHS online health and prescription services page.

All patients are now able to request online access to their own records. This is an extremely useful facility in allowing patients to take a more active role in managing their own health and wellbeing. To request access, please come to the surgery and speak with reception staff. Those already registered for online access can access the service here.

You can also use the NHS App to book GP surgery appointments and order repeat prescriptions. To find out how to download and use the app, read the NHS App information leaflet.

Patients who wish to do so may now book their appointments with any of the services on offer at Westminster Surgery online. Please note, we are only able to make a select number of our appointments available to be booked online so if your issue is urgent please be prepared to contact the surgery and arrange an appointment via the triage system.

To request access, please come to the surgery and speak with reception staff. Those already registered for online access can access the service here

If you are not registered for online appointment booking, you can still book an appointment by calling the Surgery on: 0151 355 4864.

At Westminster, we offer the Electronic Prescription Service. This facility allows you to choose or “nominate” a pharmacy for you to pick up your medicines or appliances form. Your GP will then send your prescription electronically to the place that you have nominated.

This means that:

If you collect your repeat prescriptions form your GP, you will not have to keep visiting your GP Practice to pick up a paper prescription, saving time.

You will have greater choice regarding where you can pick up your medicines from, as you can choose a pharmacy closer to where you live, work or shop.

You may not have to wait as long, as your repeat prescriptions may have been prepared before you arrive.
